Summer Holidays and PC Doom

22 07 2009

Ok so school’s out, you have 6-12 weeks of… hmm what do you plan to do?

For many students the summer holidays brings about excursions abroad, family time and even summer work. However for many others the summer holidays is synonymous with the PC. With miserable UK summer weather many turn to the PC for distractions before boredom claims the mind. So what are we doing on our computers?

Well we have Facebook, MSN, YouTube and the many many computer games both online and off. Ever heard of WoW?

Never Played, Never Will

Never Played, Never Will

Me? I’ve so far spent the holidays in an internship doing marketing for a Recruitment Agency and I can honestly say I’m glad I have. I don’t feel like I’m away from Uni because I’m up everyday at 8am but I’m not bored. Although I don’t play WoW I do play a similar far less competitive Dream of Mirror Online which in comparison to WoW is like its little cousin. I’m also an avid strategy gamer so yes I play the Age of Empires and the Civilizations, I even have an interest in Call of Duty…

My advice is to do something, anything… Boredom is a killer and its one I do not wish to meet anytime soon.

The Nokia N97, I want it and I want it Now

22 07 2009

22nd July 2009

Similar to many others worldwide, the anticipation for the Nokia N97 has been shrouded in excitement. I first found out about this phone last December when it was still in production, it was simply hailed as the Iphones competitor. I feel in love with it. Where does this love come from? Well its sleek design, slide up function (which I adore!) and quite frankly, N Series mobile phones are a force to be reckoned with.

Since then there has been constant dialogue between me and my network provider, O2. At first I was told to wait, understandable as the phone was still in testing. However once

it was leaked that the phone would be available in the UK in June, the calls became more frequent. Needless to say, O2 finally told me that they would not be stocking the phone directly which irked me to say the least.

As luck would have it, I found the solution. Mobilephonedirect.com finally produced a contract for the phone with T-Mobile, an affordable one at that. So alas I would be changing network providers. However due to the popularity of this phone I have yet to recieve it, but rest assured once I do you will know. So suscribe to this feed :)
